The Colour of Passion – a poem by Karen Duncan

Red.

Red colour of passion,

my passion.

Great attractor

alluring in its vibrancy.

Promising warmth,

excitement,

with bold sensual tones.

My soul consumed

in the attraction

drawn irresistibly to

red. Slave to its charms.

Cloaked in red I feel alive,

striking,

a fire fanned

in shades of the erotic.

Red, red, red,

passion of my mind,

ensnarer of my senses,

beloved of my heart.

Red.

  1. This is fucking brilliant Tabitha. I love how you have kept the focus on the mirror image by placing it so much negative space and the pop of your sexy red lips is perfect

  2. Such an elegant, sensual image Tabitha. Reminds me of the line by Miranda in Picnic at Hanging Rock(1975) ‘What we see and what we seem are but a dream, a dream within a dream.’ CP x

  3. This photo is so expertly done! Its gorgeous and the red really pops! I also love the poem you chose, especially ‘A fire fanned in shades of the erotic’

  4. I knew you’d come up with something good for this prompt, and wow was I right about that! Sexy, stylish and skillful enough that it belongs in a coffee table photography book 🙂

  5. This is just wonderful. You look so effortlessly elegant but I know how difficult this must’ve been to get right.

  6. Thank you SO much for all your amazing comments! I got flu just after this so I’ve disappeared a bit.
Also, I haven’t worked out how to add the “like” star to the comments!
    Lots if love x x x
